Frequently Asked Questions

Is this trimmer really free?

Yes, completely free with no hidden costs, no signup required, and no file size limits. Picxor runs entirely in your browser.

Does Picxor upload my files to a server?

No. Picxor processes all files entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your files never leave your device and are never uploaded to any server.

What is the difference between Fast and Exact trim mode?

Fast mode (stream copy) cuts the video at the nearest keyframe without re-encoding. This is nearly instant but the actual cut point may be up to 2 seconds different from what you set. Exact mode re-encodes the video to cut at precisely the frame you specify, but takes longer.

Will trimming reduce my video's quality?

In Fast mode, there is zero quality loss as the video data is copied without modification. In Exact mode, the video is re-encoded which involves a very slight quality reduction, but at the default CRF 18 setting this is imperceptible to the human eye.

Is there a file size limit?

Picxor can handle files up to 100MB. Very large files may take longer as processing happens in your browser. For files over 50MB, closing other browser tabs helps.
