Picxor is a collection of free browser-based tools for processing images, PDFs, videos and audio. Unlike most online tools, Picxor never uploads your files to any server - everything runs privately in your browser.
The Story / Why Picxor Exists
Most 'free' online tools aren't really free. You pay with your files.
When you compress a PDF on smallpdf, merge documents on ilovepdf, or resize a photo on any number of tool sites, your files travel to their servers. They pass through infrastructure you don't control, get processed by code you can't inspect, and sit in temporary storage you can't verify gets deleted.
For most files that's fine. But for contracts, medical documents, personal photos, confidential business files - it's a real concern most people don't think about until it's too late.
Picxor was built to fix this. Every tool runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly - the same technology that powers professional desktop software. Your files never leave your device. We literally cannot see them.
How Picxor Works
When you use a Picxor tool:
- You select a file from your device
- Your browser loads it into local memory
- Our JavaScript/WebAssembly code processes it entirely on your device
- The processed file downloads directly back to your device
- When you close the tab, everything is cleared from memory
No file ever touches our servers. Not temporarily. Not for processing. Not for logging. Never.
Technologies used:
- PDF processing: PDF-lib (runs in browser)
- Video/audio: FFmpeg via WebAssembly
- Image AI: TensorFlow.js and ONNX Runtime
- OCR: Tesseract.js
- All processing: 100% client-side
Why It's Free
Picxor is free because it runs display ads through Google AdSense. When you use our tools, you may see ads on the page. Those ads fund server costs, development time, and keeping every tool free forever.
We will never:
- Charge for individual tools
- Put tools behind a paywall
- Require signup to use anything
- Add watermarks to your output files
- Limit file sizes or usage counts
